Kelly Chai, SMSS (2022)O Level Chemistry Grade : A2
Before joining Ace Brainery, I found Chemistry a difficult subject to grasp the concepts of and thus failed my first exam in Sec 3. I was recommended Wilson for tuition by a friend and I am happy that I joined. Chemistry lessons with Wilson were always engaging and extremely helpful. During lessons, he was clear in explaining the different topics and always ensured that we understood what he was teaching us before moving on. When I had questions or difficulties during class, he was patient and encouraging and also taught us unique techniques to help remember the content easily. He goes the extra mile to answer questions that we have even if we text him late at night which shows his dedication to his students. He also provided a ton of resources to help us in our revision such as exam papers and notes. With Wilson’s help, I improved from an E8 at the start of Sec 3 to an A2 for my O Levels! I am very thankful to have had Wilson as my tutor and I highly recommend joining Ace Brainery!!

I joined Ace Brainery only a few months before my O Level exams, and Wilson miraculously managed to help me push my grades from a C6 to A1 within that short period of time! He is a very patient teacher who makes abstract chemistry concepts simple and easy to understand. I had been struggling with Chemistry for the majority of my upper secondary life, but with Wilson's help, the subject seemed to become much more manageable, simpler to understand and even fun. The tips and tricks that he provided to help us understand and memorise the concepts better gave me the confidence that I would be able to do well. He's a really great teacher and is very kind to students, will continue to recommend Ace Brainery to my friends!

Chemistry was always my weakest subject in secondary school and I honestly was expecting to fail it for the O levels. I joined Wilson’s lesson mid July in my Sec 4 year and it was just weeks before prelim. In that short intensive period, I managed to pull off my first ever chemistry pass during prelims and managed to get an A2 for the O-levels examination. In a short span of 5 months, Wilson has not only managed to pull my grades up through thorough explanations of concepts but has also inspired a deep interest of chemistry within me. His caring personality and eagerness to help (through the many many questions on text) really propelled me to do my best in chemistry. Even after Secondary school, chemistry still easily remains as my favourite subject and I only have Wilson to thank for sparking that love in me.

Upon failing chemistry in my mid year examinations when I was in secondary 3, I realised my chemistry needed desperate and immediate help as there was not much time left before my Os. This resulted in me asking multiple seniors for their help and advice to understand the multitude of unique concepts, but I just could not understand anything due to my weak foundation in the subject. After trying to improve my understanding of chemistry by myself for a few more months, I was honestly about to give up on the subject. It was then when one of my seniors introduced me to Wilson in Ace Brainery. Unwillingly, I decided to try out a lesson in his class and within that 2 hour lesson, I got a better understanding of a topic which I had been struggling on and learnt some things to look out for in the topic. This rapid improvement convinced me that my chemistry still had some hope despite it being my worst subject at the time, so i decided to continue on with the class. Based on my experience in the class, I feel that Wilson’s teaching style is very different from any teacher that has taught me before. He involves everyone in the class without fail when teaching and the notes he gives are very concise and easy to understand. Whenever someone raises a question in or out of class, he will always respond as soon as he can and ensure they understand his explanation. Furthermore, I truly believe he is a very passionate teacher as he constantly goes the extra mile for the class. Some examples of this is how he would let students come 30 minutes before the class starts if they wanted to clarify anything with him in person and how he would host the lesson online and in person at the same time after the pandemic quarantine; this allowed students to attend the lesson at home if they could not attend it in person. Also, around the start of 2020, he noticed that I was quite a few topics behind the class since I joined rather late compared to the rest, so he decided to free up some of his own time to personally come down and give me extra tuition at my place for a few weeks. This allowed me to catch up to the class and not be completely lost when he goes through new topics. I genuinely believe that I would not have been able to turn my F9 grade at the start of 2020 to an A1 grade for O levels without Wilson’s guidance. I am really grateful for his help and if anyone is struggling with chemistry, I would definitely recommend them to join Wilson’s class.

Chemistry had always been a daunting subject for me, until I started attending Wilson’s classes in Secondary 2. I never really understood Chemistry and was always falling behind in class. To make matters worse, the less I understood, the more my disdain towards Chemistry grew. Being very intimidated by the subject, I kept procrastinating studying and refused to touch Chemistry for fear that I wouldn’t understand anything. However, with Wilson’s quality notes and complete knowledge of the syllabus, coupled with his patience and endless encouragement, I practiced and studied more, gaining confidence and scoring better! Weekly classes with Wilson helped me as he very patiently broke down and simplified every topic for me, answering all my questions. In addition, despite having to conduct lessons online due to the Circuit Breaker period in 2020, he always reached out and made sure that I understood every lesson. Wilson is a caring and passionate teacher, and I am very grateful for his help. Without his guidance, I would not have turned my E8 chemistry result at the end of Secondary 3 to an A2 for the “O” Levels! Thanks Wilson!!

At the start of my sec 4 i can honestly say i was a consisted 39% for chemistry and thats when I started desperately looking for a chem tuition and i stumbled upon the very well known Wilson. Everyone was saying how good the tuition was so I thought why not give it a try. Within the first 4 months of tuition i ended up topping the class for Chemistry in all the tests. His friendly and caring way of teaching really motivated me to work a lot harder than i expected myself to. His surprise Liho during lessons were the best because it just helped us keep going. From never thinking i would even pass chemistry to getting an A2 in O levels (which is screwed up :( ) i must say i could never have done it without this dude Wilson. I can safely say he is worth the hype.

From a C6 to a consistent A1, Wilson was a supportive and patient teacher throughout my time under him. Wilson was extremely dedicated in clarifying all my many doubts and ensuring I understood the material well, motivating me to work hard for the grade I wanted. His fun and unique way of teaching inculcated a love for Chemistry in me and led me to pursue HL Chemistry in the IBDP. I wouldn’t be here without him! Thank you Wilson!

I had 3 Chemistry tutors prior to taking my O level exams. Wilson was my third and last tutor and my search ended there, there was no need for anyone else. Patient and familiar with the O level Chemistry syllabus, Wilson helped simplify many difficult concepts and its applications, which greatly boosted my confidence in the subject. In my 2 years with Wilson as my tutor, Chemistry was my strongest Science subject and I went on to score an A1 in the O level examinations. His tutelage has led me to pursue Chemistry as a HL subject in my IB diploma programme and I have found the good foundational knowledge Wilson laid for me in Secondary school very helpful even now. I am so grateful to Wilson for his guidance and for those times he cheered me on especially when I was feeling burnt out. Thank you Wilson.
