Before joining Ace Brainery, my Chemistry grades have always been below average and I consistently struggled trying to self-study the subject. After going through half the year without external help, my grades heavily deteriorated and that was when I decided to join Ace Brainery through strong recommendation from my good friend. Desmond carefully curated his lessons and also simplified complicated concepts. The pace of the lessons was well thought through which allowed me to have enough time to understand and revise the concepts that were being taught. What stood out to me the most was the way Desmond made a genuine effort to check in on every student and ensured that each and every one of us was on right path. No matter what time of the day it was, he will always answer any of our questions patiently and thoroughly. I am extremely grateful to have Desmond assist me in my Chemistry journey. In summary, since joining Ace Brainery, my Chemistry grade has improved from a low 5 to an extremely high 7 that happened to during the single most important HL Chemistry exam, which was the actual IB sitting. I joined Desmond’s class at Ace Brainery at the start of IB Year 5. Throughout my secondary school days I have always had difficulties with regards to my Chemistry, and it was always one of my weaker subjects. Having Desmond as my tutor helped significantly in compressing and simplying Chemistry concepts into ideas that were relatable, easy to grasp and understand, which ultimately paved the way in forming the foundation of my Chemistry knowledge. Over the lessons that I’ve had with Desmond, his skill at efficiently communicating Chemistry concepts, along with his genuine concern for his students’ success was what helped me develop into a student with much greater confidence and understanding of the syllabus. Desmond also always went out of his way to answer each and every of my questions, even when I asked him late at night. His passionate attitude towards teaching also inspired me to put in the due effort to obtain stellar results. Overall, with Desmond’s help, I was able to obtain my 7 in Chemistry, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the effort he expended, not just in teaching Chemistry, but even guiding me in life lessons which I would carry with me far into the future. When I first joined Desmond’s HL Chemistry class, I was extremely lost in school and had not much idea as to even approach basic Chemistry questions. I was scoring grade 4s and 5s for Chemistry in Year 6, and I was really worried because no matter how I studied, I just could not understand the subject matter. However, Desmond explained Chemistry concepts very well and also effectively planned his lessons so that we managed to cover all required revision before our actual IB exams. Desmond’s confidence in his teaching reassured me, because I knew that I would be able to get 7 in Chemistry as long as I followed what Desmond told me to do.
