I started tuition with Wilson when I first started taking Chemistry at the start of Sec 3. As a student-athlete, I spent a lot of my time training which meant that I had less time to revise my school work. With the increase in workload and unfamiliar concepts in Chemistry, juggling my studies with my training was not easy but having lessons with Wilson allowed me to feel more at ease as I had a good understanding towards the various topics with his help. This was due to the fact that he went through the topics in a very concise manner which highlighted the main points of the topic and made the topic easily digestible for me. With the help of Wilson, I was able to better comprehend my teacher during class and score well for my Chemistry exams. Overall, Wilson has been a great help to me in my schooling journey for Chemistry.

When I first started lessons with Mr Wilson, I was having trouble with the simplest parts of chemistry like writing chemical formulae as I learnt them in school when covid was at it's peak. Mr Wilson took the time to build up my basic chemistry foundation and I managed to pick up quite quickly. Furthermore, I never felt like he was judging my abilities whatsoever. Mr Wilson is an extremely patient and caring teacher teacher. He uses fun and simple analogies to explain complicated chemistry concepts to me that helped me grasp the concepts much better. I used to have the impression that I had to strictly memorise everything for the chemistry exams but Mr Wilson would point out to me that some topics should not be purely memorised but fully understood and applied instead. For topics that needed some memorisation, Mr Wilson gave me some fun ways to remember them! Lastly, Mr Wilson also gives real life examples of how the chemistry concepts are applied which help me remember the concepts better!

My foundation in Chemistry was weak initially and I struggled to keep up with the school syllabus, but the lessons at Ace Brainery has allowed me to better understand various concepts and hence, Chemistry has also become my favourite subject.
I am extremely grateful for Wilson's patient and easygoing nature, which makes lessons both engaging and fun for me, and I look forward to it every week. He welcomes questions readily and I am able to clear all my doubts easily!

When I came to Ace Brainery, I was a confused Year 3 student going into Year 4 with a weak foundation of most Chemistry concepts. I was struggling with the subject and I couldn’t even tell the difference between atoms and molecules.
However, once I started attending the lessons, Wilson’s clear explanations and notes helped me to have a much clearer understanding of many basic concepts that I was confused about. Moreover, he answered any questions I had and also helped me out with schoolwork. As a result, my grades improved significantly in Year 4. Every lesson was very enjoyable and I am thankful that Wilson made Chemistry more engaging and likeable for me!

Wilson is a one-of-a-kind teacher. I joined him at the start of secondary 3 in RGS and continued
all the way until the end of my secondary school journey. Before I went to him, I was attaining a
fail grade for my chemistry papers. My inability to grasp the concept of the topics I was learning
then led to my dislike for the subject. Wilson understood this and therefore did his best to make
lessons more interesting and engaging to get me more invested in the subject. He was one of
those rare teachers that you could be completely comfortable around and bond with, which
made lessons fun. He was also able to teach in a manner that managed to help me thoroughly
understand the concepts that I could not grasp previously in school. Slowly but surely, chemistry
became a much more manageable and enjoyable subject for me. I finally passed my first
chemistry paper just 3 months after joining him. From there on, my chemistry grades continued
improving steadily and by the end of my secondary 4 journey, I managed to attain an overall
grade of 84 for chemistry, where the cohort median was 71. This huge improvement in my
grades is a testament to his teaching.

Before i came to Ace Brainery, I wasn't exactly failing chem but neither did i have a lot of confidence in the subject. It was my worse science and I had adopted the attitude that i could only mug hard and memorise everything before the exam, that Chemistry was a subject of memorisation. But when Mr Wilson started teaching me in August of Sec 3 year, teaching and explaining concepts to me, things started to click. I was able to look at topics in a new light, and things that I previously had to work hard to memorise, I was now able to see the reasons why they were as such, and understand the underlying concepts and explanations, and suddenly Chemistry was not as hard as it had seemed before. Throughout the whole of my Year 4 as well Mr Wilson was extremely helpful, especially with regards to the harder topics. He would take the time to explain the reasons why this thing was such-and-such, and in exams or during class, even if I was not able to recall from memory the exact way a series or an answer should be, I could work from the explanations and underlying concepts and derive the correct answer, and I think that's the biggest impact Mr WIlson left on me. He helped me see that Chemistry was not a subject where whoever could memorise and regurgitate the best would score; there was understanding and application involved. That was a new way of thinking for me back in Sec 3, and it's stuck with me ever since. Even though now I am no longer under Mr Wilson the ideas and concepts of using First Principles to derive more difficult properties is something that continues to help me greatly in learning, understanding, studying for and appreciating Chem. Thank you sir!

Wilson’s patience and dedication in guiding me through Chemistry have been an immense
blessing. Prior to his coaching, I lacked an understanding of fundamental Chemistry concepts, and
was thus very unconfident in the subject.
However, once I began lessons with Wilson, I found them to be both enjoyable and effective
in allowing me to absorb the various concepts, hence concurrently developing a better appreciation
of Chemistry – his organised and engaging way of teaching, which encouraged independent thinking
while catering to the limitations of my needs and abilities, resulted in me acquiring knowledge at a
rapid yet comfortable pace.
Beyond the confines of regular lessons, Wilson was also readily available to assist in queries
and school assignments; this was definitive of his going the extra mile to forge a genuine friendship
with me. All in all, I am tremendously grateful for his efforts and devotion in enabling me to strive
for excellence!
