Joining Ace Brainery lifted a huge academic burden off my shoulders during my time in JC as Desmond's Chemistry lessons were not only highly effective in breaking down complex topics and chapters, they were also extremely engaging. Desmond's once a week lessons were more than sufficient in keeping us afloat in school, which really allowed me and my friends to spend more time studying our other subjects. His attention to detail helped to strengthen our foundation and understanding of Chemistry. Furthermore, Desmond is also passionate tutor, and is also extremely approachable. He will always reply any questions we may have with in-depth explanations no matter the time of day. His unwavering support and encouragement helped me consistently secure good grades in Chemistry, and I highly recommend Ace Brainery to anyone taking Chemistry.

Chemistry has always been my weakest subject. I really struggled to score any better than an E grade in my first year in ACJC, and I actually failed the subject many times. Things only started to change after my friend recommended Ace Brainery to me after my J1 Promotional Examination. Desmond organises his materials and teaches in a way that makes it a lot easier for students to grasp complex Chemistry concepts. This helped me a lot as my biggest weakness was the inability to grasp those concepts. Not only is Desmond an exceptional teacher with a profound knowledge of Chemistry, his dedication to help students improve is evident in how he goes out of his way to contact weaker students in his own free time to offer extra help, as well as his speedy and detailed responses to our questions asked on WhatsApp. Thanks to Desmond’s guidance, I managed to improve tremendously, and finally achieved an A grade for H2 Chemistry in the A Level Examination. I have always recommended Ace Brainery to my friends and juniors, and I will gladly continue to do so!

During my JC1, I really struggled with my Chemistry as the concepts were too hard for me to grasp. In addition, there was also the lack of interest in Chemistry on my part. Hence, it was not unexpected that I got a U for my mid year exams. It was then that I decided to enrol in Ace Brainery after my Mum’s strong recommendation. After the first session, I discovered that Chemistry was actually not so hard after all! Desmond’s ability to explain concepts in a simple manner made it possible for me to appreciate the Chemistry concepts so much better. He is also a tutor with a vast and also impressive knowledge in the subject matter, which is not surprising since he got first class coupled with many years of experience under his belt. Addtionally, his occasional jokes in class always made lessons fun for me. I saw my grades quickly improving significantly, and I managed an eventual B for my JC1 EOY. In JC2, I discovered that he is truly a level above my school teachers and perhaps other tuition teachers as he gave us extremely helpful advice on exam techniques, which solved important issues like time management. I am extremely grateful to Desmond for helping me so much not only in Chemistry, but also in issues which I periodically face outside of the subject matter. Thank you!

I was never really gifted at Chemistry, and I also was not one of those students who is able to quickly grasp new content and concepts. However, with Desmond’s style of teaching, I feel like I was able to understand everything much faster. Over the span of 2 years, I not only have an amazing teacher who somehow did the impossible and made me fall in love with Chemistry that became my favourite subject (which I found myself actively finding time to study it willingly), but I also have a very supportive mentor who would encourage me through the numerous downs I experienced due to the immense difficulty of my school papers! I can say with utmost confidence that Desmond is your guy to get you the A, as long as you’re willing to put in the effort.

I joined Ace Brainery after scoring a ‘U’ for my JC2 mid-year examinations. Then, my school teachers told me that my goal of obtaining an ‘A’ in Chemistry was near impossible, considering the number of lessons I’ve missed, but Mr Desmond never gave up on me. He remained extremely patient, retaught me everything from scratch, and kept pushing me towards my goal.
   
During lessons, Mr Desmond simplified the syllabus and ensured we fully understood the material. He highlighted the important details so we knew exactly what was required in the exams, and also provided us with shortcuts to memorising them. After class, Mr Desmond would stay back to answer all our questions, and even stayed up the night before our exams to answer the last minute questions we had in a panic. 

I used to dread studying Chemistry but after joining Mr Desmond’s classes, I found myself looking forward to his weekly lessons. His commitment to his work and students is truly commendable and I highly recommend Ace Brainery to anyone looking for Chemistry tuition. As I’ve always told my friends, “I swear by Ace Brainery because if anyone can save you, it’s Mr Desmond.”

Mr Tan is a brilliant teacher that is efficient and effective. He has the ability to filter for us the important and useful learning points. He also concisely points out all the important things in the exam papers to look out for. Mr Tan’s notes are very detailed with just the right amount of information to be used on the exam day itself. Towards the A Level exams, he created a schedule to guide us on the proper sequence to do our papers. Moreover, he goes through the papers in class with in-depth explanations. Personally, Mr Tan has also really helped me in terms of my confidence. Nearing the A Levels and also after my prelims that I did not do too well in, he took time out of the regular tuition sessions to assure me that my efforts were good enough, and also encouraged me to continue working hard. When I felt that all hope was lost, his words kept me going, and motivated me to continue striving. In the end, I managed to improve from an E in my prelims to an A in the A Levels. Thank you very much Mr Tan!

I started attending Desmond's Chemistry lessons mid-way through JC2, as he was very highly recommended. Before that, I didn’t have much interest in the subject and merely see it as a requirement. Desmond’s classes were super engaging and he kept everyone on their toes throughout the entire duration of his lessons. The questions he posed in class were good refreshers (although embarrassing at times if I answered wrongly, haha). He made me realise how important the basics were even at the JC level. Desmond somehow has enough time to mark all the papers he gives us for revision and answer every one of our questions outside of class, which really shows his dedication to helping his students improve. After a while, I started to become interested in Chemistry, and I even looked forward to the weekly lessons! Never once did I come out of class having not gained/learned something. Despite being his student for a short while, Desmond’s lessons and teaching style really impressed me (and made me laugh). Thank you for the enjoyable semester, Desmond!

Before I started Chemistry lessons at Ace Brainery, I found it really difficult to understand the subject. It was really tough to keep up with my school’s lecture pace, and I was often clueless during my school’s tutorials. Through Desmond’s constant guidance and comprehensive notes, I was able to grasp the main concepts much more easily. He would also clear my doubts outside of tuition time every single time without fail, and even take the effort to explain them in great detail. Nearing our A levels, he also provides crash courses for us to attend. Each lesson covers a different topic, thus we were able to brush up on specific topics that we were weaker in, which made it very helpful. Desmond is a very dedicated teacher who genuinely cares a lot about his students, and I would definitely recommend everyone to join Ace Brainery. Had I not attended Ace Brainery, I definitely would not have been able to secure my A in H2 Chemistry for the A levels.
