Chemistry had always been a daunting subject for me, until I started attending Wilson’s classes in Secondary 2. I never really understood Chemistry and was always falling behind in class. To make matters worse, the less I understood, the more my disdain towards Chemistry grew. Being very intimidated by the subject, I kept procrastinating studying and refused to touch Chemistry for fear that I wouldn’t understand anything. However, with Wilson’s quality notes and complete knowledge of the syllabus, coupled with his patience and endless encouragement, I practiced and studied more, gaining confidence and scoring better! Weekly classes with Wilson helped me as he very patiently broke down and simplified every topic for me, answering all my questions.  In addition, despite having to conduct lessons online due to the Circuit Breaker period in 2020, he always reached out and made sure that I understood every lesson. Wilson is a caring and passionate teacher, and I am very grateful for his help. Without his guidance, I would not have turned my E8 chemistry result at the end of Secondary 3 to an A2 for the “O” Levels! Thanks Wilson!!

I first started chemistry under Mr Wilson roughly around the mid of sec 3. My grades were terrible usually hanging around the F9 and I hated the subject, like what is so intriguing or fun about a couple of liquids that we hardly ever see?....or so I thought.  At the start, it wasn't easy as I struggled to build up my fundamentals from square one. No matter how many stupid questions I asked, Mr Wilson did not lose his patience (at least not directly at me) and explained in detail until I fully understood the question. I distinctly remember scoring a C5 for chemistry and felt really disappointed as I did not perform to my standards. However, he still told me that at least I had improved from an F9 and said we will get there. In lessons, important concepts are highlighted and noted down with interesting methods and acronyms to remember them. This made me become more interested in improving my chemistry as I finally saw it in a new light. When covid hit and circuit breaker lockdown occurred, Ace Brainery wasted no time in converting to online lessons. During that period with the aid of Wilson, I managed to clock in more practice on chem and I finally managed to score an A2 in my prelims and O levels. I always felt that tuition is a rigid thing only for studying and improving your grades but Mr Wilson was able to make me feel relaxed during lessons and would usually make small talk with me during lessons which has significantly lightened up my mood on several occasions. He not only made sure i was practicing chemistry but told me it was important to keep up with my other subjects, a very important thing I find not many tuition teachers remind their students about. I feel very comfortable with him and should I ever have a problem chemistry related or not, i would not hesitate to seek his advice and guidance. Chemistry is a daunting subject that is hard for many secondary students and a lot of times you may feel discouraged to even continue learning it. However, I would strongly recommend for you to give Ace Brainery a shot, as they are more than well equipped to push your chemistry to the next level. I promise you it is not a decision you will regret! :)

Upon failing chemistry in my mid year examinations when I was in secondary 3, I realised my chemistry needed desperate and immediate help as there was not much time left before my Os. This resulted in me asking multiple seniors for their help and advice to understand the multitude of unique concepts, but I just could not understand anything due to my weak foundation in the subject. After trying to improve my understanding of chemistry by myself for a few more months, I was honestly about to give up on the subject. It was then when one of my seniors introduced me to Wilson in Ace Brainery. Unwillingly, I decided to try out a lesson in his class and within that 2 hour lesson, I got a better understanding of a topic which I had been struggling on and learnt some things to look out for in the topic. This rapid improvement convinced me that my chemistry still had some hope despite it being my worst subject at the time, so i decided to continue on with the class.

Based on my experience in the class, I feel that Wilson’s teaching style is very different from any teacher that has taught me before. He involves everyone in the class without fail when teaching and the notes he gives are very concise and easy to understand. Whenever someone raises a question in or out of class, he will always respond as soon as he can and ensure they understand his explanation. Furthermore, I truly believe he is a very passionate teacher as he constantly goes the extra mile for the class. Some examples of this is how he would let students come 30 minutes before the class starts if they wanted to clarify anything with him in person and how he would host the lesson online and in person at the same time after the pandemic quarantine; this allowed students to attend the lesson at home if they could not attend it in person. Also, around the start of 2020, he noticed that I was quite a few topics behind the class since I joined rather late compared to the rest, so he decided to free up some of his own time to personally come down and give me extra tuition at my place for a few weeks. This allowed me to catch up to the class and not be completely lost when he goes through new topics.

I genuinely believe that I would not have been able to turn my F9 grade at the start of 2020 to an A1 grade for O levels without Wilson’s guidance. I am really grateful for his help and if anyone is struggling with chemistry, I would definitely recommend them to join Wilson’s class.

Wilson is an extremely encouraging and caring chemistry tutor that has helped me gain confidence and interest in chemistry. Ever since joining in Secondary 3, Wilson has been able to simplify many topics and has helped make learning chemistry more fun overall. Under his guidance and tutelage, he has helped me improve greatly! His patience and desire to help his students definitely shows in his way of teaching, and is an important factor that has helped me achieve my goals in the O level examinations :) I would definitely recommend Wilson to any students currently struggling in chemistry or looking for a way to improve.  Thank you Wilson!!

I joined Ace Brainery only a few months before my O Level exams, and Wilson miraculously managed to help me push my grades from a C6 to A1 within that short period of time! He is a very patient teacher who makes abstract chemistry concepts simple and easy to understand. I had been struggling with Chemistry for the majority of my upper secondary life, but with Wilson's help, the subject seemed to become much more manageable, simpler to understand and even fun. The tips and tricks that he provided to help us understand and memorise the concepts better gave me the confidence that I would be able to do well. He's a really great teacher and is very kind to students, and will continue to recommend Ace Brainery to my friends!
